Re: failing speedometer

I have no idea, but believe that it is the same conctruction on all 164's, so hopefully someone have experienced this and found a solution.

Re: Alfa 164 Probleme mit der Klimabedieneinheit

If I understand it correctly (please supply English text when writing here, so google translate does not have to be done by others separately), you have changed the unit, but having the exact same problems, both with lights, fans etc? As this is a pre-FL 164, I don't have experience with this unit, ...

Re: 24v engine, automatic to manual

Welcome to the site. That sounds like an interesting project, hope to see that on the tracks in Sweden :) If you look at this thread, it is clear that the ECU is the same for manual and automatics, as it is also used in the 'Q', which is manual only: http://alfaromeo164register.com/viewtopic.php?t=2...

I will have to look in my archives, as it might be a Brink that was installed on my Q4 many years ago. I cannot guarantee that I have any information, though.

Re: problem when turning left

I don't recall if you did anything around the fuel pump, but my guess would be fuel starvation, most likely in the fuel tank. Does it also happen with a full tank?

Lose connections? Earth connections?

They make a very nice pair 😎

You got a good result for the valve covers πŸ‘

Yes, that bolt size is not easy to find, I used ebay to track some down.

Re: The problem air bag

In my Q4 (driver airbag only) it is placed in the center console behind the radio, either above or below the engine ECU, so I suggest you look there for the actual number of the unit.

Re: Buying advise needed, can't get it out of my head

Welcome, Marc :) My main knowledge is on the Q4, so I am biased 8) I prefer the 24V and that is also what you have experience on, so maybe you should stick to that. The main difference between the 24V Super and QV in handling, I think is mainly down to the electrically adjustable shock absorbers - a...

Re: Hello from the United Kingdom

I have not seen any TS with 5 stud wheels (think the TD is the same), but you never know with Italian cars πŸ€

It can also have been modified, which is what I find most likely.

Re: Hello from the United Kingdom

Ok, the 5-hole wheels is not standard TS, but they do drive really well - and probably better suited as a daily driver.

Good that you are able to get the parts, so you can get behind the wheel and enjoy it!

Re: Alfa164Diagnostics

Not really, but my guess is that the ECU is not working, and therefore it does not have any other fault code for indicating this, than showing that message.

I would erase the code, disconnect battery for some hours, then rerun diagnostics and see what it shows.

I have not changed the gaskets in the fuel tank, but I would guess they are the same type as in the FWD 164's. Have you checked the part numbers in ePer?

Re: Recaro seats in a Q4

As I don't have those type of seats in my Q4, I don't know, but since they were available options, they must fit. Probably some spacers are needed at different locations, most likely towards the center console.
