Reference Sensor for Marelli Tester Module

Post by Helli » Sat Jun 30, 2012 5:10 pm

There is a Module M-18A for the Magneti Marelli Tester, which is used for the Alarm System

Does anyone know, if this Module M-18A does need Reference Sensors and if Yes, which ones?

Your info would be highly appreciated

No idea, I don't have any data for that module.

there is a test you can do yourself to check the sensors

Thanks Wilco for the copy.
This manual test ist quite simple, but then it does test only the six opening/closing switches.
But this answers my question about test connectors - obviously they are not required
The circuit diagram on page 210 (manual which you quote) shows on the very left a Test Connector "T7", which is located in the vicinity of the "Antitheft-Control Unit" (N45).
That means that a Module test is forseen.

there probably is, but as it only has the door/trunk/hoodswitches, there's not much more to test i guess..
so i guess there's not really a need for those modules...

By chance, when I removed the left cover in the trunk to gain access to the left rear shock absorber I found a red ECU attached to the shock absorber housing.
Close to it there is a Marelli Test Connector.

The ECU has the logo "TRW Sipea" - that is for the alarm system.
Therefore this Test Connector must be T7.

In the past I was searching for this behind the battery, where the relays and fuses are located.
But this was wrong.

Over the weekend I will attach it to the Marelli Module M-18A and I will report about the result.
